Spring is here and it's time to get the outdoor furniture out of storage and start barbequing and picnicing. While you are at it, this is a good time to wipe a coat of Watco Teak Oil Finish or McCloskey Man O' War Spar Varnish on it to protect it from the harsh UV rays that can cause the wood to detoriate. Summertime is the worst time for wood to be outdoors, as exposure to the sun's rays will turn most woods gray and dry out the natural oils in the wood. Anyone that has sat down on a weathered, dry picnic table while wearing shorts knows how important it is keep the wood in good shape so you don't get slivers. If the wood has turned gray, you can lightly sand it with 150 or 180 grit sandpaper to prepare it for a new coat of finish. When hand sanding, always rub in the same direction as the grain of the wood. If you are wondering about which finish to use, you can read more about Teak Oil vs Spar Varnish finishes.

Chair-Loc joint tightener is one of our most popular products, but unfortunately is not available from the manufacturer at this time. The manufacturer only mixes a batch 1 or 2 times a year, and right now they don't have the next batch scheduled. As soon as it is available again, we'll restore the order button on the Chair-Loc page.
